Design Process

In order to install the magnets in the lid and containers consistently and quickly. I designed an Aligner Ring and a Magnet Pressing Tool. The idea is to place the magnets into the Aligning Ring and then press fit the Magnets.

Aligning Ring

In order to press fit the magnets, I need to have a tool that would guide the magnets to the right location and correct orientation.

R0:

• Aligns to via the outside radius of the lid and container

R1:

• Magnets are strong enough to jump from one slot to another

• The area of the magnet loading slots is too small

Magnet Press

To complete the press fit, I need a tool that would be able to press-fit the magnets without breaking

• Perfect the orientation of magnets
