Offers wireless connectivity and reliability for a low cost.

• A low cost was crucial in creating a product that would be price justifiable

• Meat Master requires WiFi in order to send texts to the owner. Additionally, if we were to create an app, we would require Bluetooth connectivity for faster communication.

Sensors

Thermocouple:

Sensor to determine the temperature of the protein that it is inserted into. With a maximum error of 3°C, it is more than accurate for our purposes. To account for the error, I could also add in programming that would hold the protein at the desired doneness temperature for a brief period of time to ensure safety.

Actuators

Speaker:

Used to audibly let the user know that their food needs to be flipped or the doneness has been reached.

A speaker was chosen as a method of communication in the event that the user does not have their phone with them.
